The Spirit of the Sandbagger artwork was jointly dedicated by the Fargo Lions Club and The City of Fargo on September 15, 2021 with a ribbon cutting by the Floodwall and Sandbag Level donors (gifts over $10,000 or $5,000, respectively) and attended by Shovel Level donors (gifts of $1,000 and up), area community members, local reporters and camera crews, and a whole lot of area Lions members. Speakers included Joe Dobbs, President of the Fargo Lions Club 2020-2021; Jane Pettinger, Project Lead from the Fargo Lions Club; and Timothy Mahoney, Mayor of The City of Fargo.
